Huawei P30 Review, Camera and cool performance

Huawei P30 Review, Camera and cool performance
QUX.ME, Jakarta - Editor of QUX.ME has the opportunity to review Huawei's latest premium smartphone, Huawei P30. Previously we have carried out hands-on Huawei P30.

Huawei P30 is the original version of the P30 series. The P30 series includes P30, P30 Pro and P30 Lite. This smartphone still puts the camera and performance as a mainstay feature like those of other P30 series members.

This smartphone will be available in Indonesia in the near future. In Indonesia, Huawei P30 can be pre-ordered from April 12-19 2019 both online and offline through the Huawei High-End Experience Shop and e-commerce partner. The price, Huawei P30 is priced at Rp. 9,999 million.

Huawei P30 comes in Black, Aurora, Amber Sunrise, Breathing Crystal and Pearl White variants. Huawei P30 has a variety of configurations namely 6GB and 8GB RAM and 64/128/256 GB ROM.

The variant of Huawei P30 that we reviewed this time is 4 / 128GB with the color Breathing Crystal. Here's the review.

The Breathing Crystal color variant provides a color gradation effect on the Huawei P30. When under the reflection of sunlight or lights, the color gradation effect is more visible. The resulting color gradation depends on lighting.

The body of this smartphone uses polycarbonate material wrapped in glass on the back. The selection of this polycarbonate material makes the Huawei P30 look like a mid-sized smartphone, it doesn't look like a premium cellphone. The entire framework uses aluminum material.

When we see and hold the Huawei P30 it looks elegant and sturdy. Like a premium smartphone in general, Huawei P30's quality build quality is quite good.

When held, the Huawei P30 is also quite comfortable and not too heavy with dimensions of 71.36mm x 149.1mm x 7.57mm and weights 165g. Curved corners add comfort when the phone is held.

The screen is 6.1 inches wide, notch waterdrop as a 32 MP selfie camera container and the receiver speaker is plastered on the front of this phone. While the three main cameras are 40MP, 16MP and 8MP resolution, Flash LEDs, Leica sensor posts and the Huawei logo are embedded on the back of the phone.

The right side is found the power button and the volume up and down buttons. While the left side is found only sim card slot. MicroSD slot must be absent from this phone.

The 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, speaker and mic holes are on the bottom of the phone. The top of the cellphone only has a mic hole.

Affairs of photos and videos, P30 pinned 3 main cameras with a resolution of 40MP, 16MP and 8MP. The main lens has a resolution of 40 MP with an aperture of f / 1.8.

The secondary lens is supported by a 16 MP ultrawide sensor with an f / 2.2 aperture. While the third lens uses a telephoto sensor measuring 8 MP with an f / 2.4 aperture.

The main camera of Huawei P30 is supported by AI technology. This AI mode can detect photo objects, photo conditions and more.

You can activate the AI mode in the main camera menu only. This mode can be used for selfie cameras.

Huawei P30 camera display is quite simple. Provided photo, portrait, pro, night mode, AR lens, HDR, wide, super macros and more.

Photo mode has 5x optical zoom capabilities and up to 30x digital zoom. When we tried optical zoom mode up to 5x zoom, the resulting photo was not broken and had minimal noise. Conversely, when trying digital zoom up to 30x, the resulting photo breaks and there is a lot of noise.

When we use the P30 main camera, the resulting photo is quite sharp and details with the right color composition. The results of this photo we got when activating AI mode on the main camera.

When not using AI mode, the resulting photo is much brighter and the color composition is not appropriate. In sufficient light conditions, both indoor and outdoor photos are sharper and have no noise. Because AI mode is able to adjust to the surrounding lighting conditions.

In dark and night conditions, the pictures are also quite good. You can also try night mode for better photo quality.
This night mode produces better color composition and detail than ordinary photo mode. You can also use LED Flash when shooting at night.

The bokeh effect produced by portrait mode is also quite natural. A variety of AR enmoji, stickers and attractive filters are available to enhance the photos.

32 MP self-resolution camera with f / 2.0 aperture. This selfie camera can detect faces accurately.

When selfie both in sufficient light conditions and in low light, the results are quite satisfying. You can also use LED Flash when selfie at night. Beuaty mode can soften your face, but the results are still natural.

For videos included video mode, slow-mo and time lapse.

Screen and UI

Huawei P30 is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED screen with FHD + resolution (2340x1080p). The ratio aspect is 19.5: 9 and the body to screen ratio reaches 85.8%.

When we try to play games and watch videos, the visual display presented by this screen is quite sharp and detailed. The notch design is a little annoying when playing games. You can adjust the display so that it doesn't cover the notch in the settings menu.

Huawei P30 screen display is quite simple. The interface display uses EMUI 9.1.0.

At the top of the screen there is a notification tray that contains incoming message notifications and menus. Notification tray presents Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, flashlight, sound, auto rotate, Huawei share, airplane mode, mobile data, GPS, screenshots, screen recorders, wireless projection, hostspot and NFC. You can also adjust the screen brightness in the notification tray.

Software and features

This phone runs with the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Not many Huawei default applications are embedded in this phone. The default application includes AppGallery and Health.

AppGalerry is similar to PlayStore which allows users to download applications. As the name implies, the health application can measure your health such as the number of steps, calories and more.

Google's default application is also present on this phone like Google, Gmail, Gmaps, YouTube, Drive and others. The screen recorder feature capable of capturing videos is also present on this smartphone.

About security, this phone is supported by fingerprint and face unlock. Huawei P30 embedded fingerprint sensor in the screen which is the advantage of this phone.

Fingerprint and face unlock capabilities are able to open the cellphone quickly under 1 second. Face unlock sensor can be able to open the cellphone when the user's face uses accessories such as glasses, hats and more, and in the dark.

Hardware and performance

The kitchen is supported by the Kirin 980 chipset with an Octa-core processor and Mali-G76 MP10 GPU. To support its performance, supported by Turbo Turbo 3.0 technology.

The storage is supported by 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Because the internal memory is quite large, there is no MicroSD slot available on this phone.

To test its performance, we use benchmark applications and play games. The benchmark applications we use are AnTuTu, 3D Mark, PC Mark, and Geekbench.

Huawei P30 successfully underwent all benchmark tests smoothly and had no significant obstacles. At AnTuTu, Huawei P30 achieved a score of 291579 and was ranked 16th. Huawei P30 got a score of 7693 in the test work 2.0 performance on PC Mark.

3D Mark test, Huawei P30 achieved a score of 35863. While the geekbench test, this phone carved a score of 3270 for single-core and 9696 for multi-core.

We tried playing games using PUBG games, Bleach Mobile 3D, and One Piece Bounty Rush. For PUBG games, Huawei P30 is able to run the highest settings with HDR graphics and ultra frame rates.

We play PUBG games with that setting or right. When we play graphics that are presented by Huawei P30 it feels very smooth in these settings.

As a result, the PUBG game was able to be completely discharged by Huawei P30. Likewise with two other games capable of running smoothly on the Huawei P30.

We also test audio by watching videos and listening to music. The sound produced is quite clear and round.

In effect, Huawei P30 is supported by a 3650mAh capacity battery with the support of 22.5W fast charging technology. This phone is fully charged under 20% within one and a half hours. When the condition is above 20%, of course the process of charging is faster.

When used to play games, this phone can last up to 6 to 7 hours. When used for watching videos, Huawei P30 can last up to 10 to 12 hours.

For standard uses such as internet browsing, e-mail, social networking and others, this device can last up to a full day of about 24 hours. In standby, it can last up to two days or 48 hours.

Connectivity, Huawei P30 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, USB Type-C port and 2G / 3G / 4G network. Also included are fingerprint under display sensors, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, color spectrum and NFC. This NFC sensor is very useful for making payment transactions.

This device only has two Sim Card slots. Unfortunately the MicroSD slot is not embedded on this cellphone.

We tested the Huawei P30 network using the Speed Test application through the help of an Indosat operator. Download speeds reached 39.5 Mbps and upload speeds of 23.7 Mbps. Network stability and speed also depend on the operator used, weather conditions and more.

At a price of Rp. 9,999 million, Huawei has a number of advantages in terms of performance, camera, durability and more. Huawei P30 camera has the ability of a professional camera equivalent. Huawei P30 performance is also maximum with a number of tests that are passed.

Visualization on the screen is also quite detailed and sharp. The durability of the battery is quite durable. Network connection is quite stable depending on provider and weather.

In terms of design, the color gradation makes the impression of an elegant Huawei P30. However, polycarbonate material does not reflect the Huawei P30 like a premium cellphone. Huawei P30 is suitable for those of you who like mobile photography, selfie and playing games.
